Your daily loop
Once you’re locked in, the game is simple: pass at least one new lesson every day.
What counts as “a day”
Days are measured in UTC. A day counts toward your streak (a “lesson-day”) when you pass at least one lesson you haven’t passed before during that UTC day.
- Passing means scoring 55 or more out of 100 on the lesson quiz (partial credit counts — see Courses & Lessons).
- Re-doing a lesson you already passed does not count — the streak rewards new progress, not repetition.
Because days flip at midnight UTC, your local deadline may not be midnight. Check what time UTC midnight is where you live and build your habit around it.
What a day of progress does
Each lesson-day:
- Streak +1 — your streak is the number of consecutive lesson-days.
- Progress toward a Shield — every 3 consecutive lesson-days earns you a Shield (you can hold at most 3).
- XP — first-time completions award XP toward your level (see XP & Levels).
- The flame reflects it — the flame gauge on your dashboard shows how safe your streak currently is.
What missing a day does
- With a Shield banked: the Shield burns, your streak pauses (it does not reset), and nothing else happens. Shields exist so one bad day doesn’t wreck a month of work.
- With no Shields: your streak resets to 0 and you take a Lapse. Lapses are the real consequence — they cut the share of yield you’ll receive at the end: 1 Lapse = you keep 50%, 2 Lapses = you keep 0% (your principal is always safe). Several missed days in a row count as one Lapse, not one per day.
The full mechanic, with every edge case, is on Streak, Shields & Lapses.
